A LITTLE GUIDANCE GOES A LONG WAY.

Make yourself
at home.

From your first prompt to your first finished project.
Here’s how to find your way around Codlyra.

Your first project

Create an account with your name, email, and a password of at least 10 characters. You’ll enter the workspace immediately. No credit card is needed.

  1. Choose New project and give your idea a name.
  2. Start with a blank canvas, a studio landing page, a portfolio, or the interactive Daylight dashboard.
  3. Open the project. The conversation is on the left; the preview and files are on the right.
  4. Connect an AI key in Settings before your first agent run, or use managed credits when available.

The free workspace supports 3 private projects. You can edit, preview, export, and share starters without an AI connection.

Connect your AI

Open Settings → AI connections. Save an API key for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI, or OpenRouter. The provider links in Settings take you to the relevant key-management page.

A key connects to supported models from that provider. OpenRouter can route requests to every model in the selector if your account supports them. Your own direct-provider key is used first, followed by your own OpenRouter key, then a managed provider connection if available.

Keys are encrypted when stored. Codlyra displays only the final four characters and never includes keys in the agent’s prompt. Choose a key with the necessary model permissions and set a spending limit at the provider.

Your own API key is billed by its provider and does not use Codlyra credits. The Codlyra credit budget applies only to managed connections.

Work with your agent

Choose a model, describe your task, and send it. A useful prompt gives the agent a goal, an audience, a style, and any interactions you need.

For example: “Make a warm, minimal portfolio for a ceramic artist. Add a responsive project gallery, an about section, and a contact section. Use earth tones and large typography.”

The agent reads files, creates or edits code, and reports its progress in the conversation. You can stop a run; the current provider request may finish before the stop takes effect. Completed file changes remain saved. There is one active run per account, with up to 10 model steps and a five-minute time limit.

Ask follow-up questions to refine your project. Switch models between runs if you want a different approach. If a preview error appears, choose “Ask agent to fix” to include the error in your next prompt.

Preview and code, side by side

The preview starts at index.html. Local stylesheets and scripts are included automatically. JavaScript modules and React/TypeScript files are bundled for the preview. Available package imports include react, react-dom/client, and lucide-react.

Open the Code tab to edit or add a file. Click Save, or press Ctrl/⌘+S inside the editor. You can use Tab to indent. File editing is paused while an agent run is active to prevent conflicting changes.

The preview has desktop and mobile widths. It runs in an isolated browser frame: network requests, third-party scripts, form submissions, and browser storage are blocked. Use local CSS, inline SVG, and in-memory state for interactive demos. Review exported code before hosting it elsewhere.

Versions, sharing, and taking it with you

Successful agent edits and manual file saves create versions. Up to 50 versions are kept per project. The History tab lets you restore a snapshot; the version before your restore is also saved.

Share preview creates a public link. Anyone who has the link can see the current rendered project. Your chat, account details, and API keys are not exposed. Turn sharing off to revoke the link.

Export downloads a ZIP containing your source files. For static projects, unzip the files and serve them with a static web server. React projects need their usual local build tooling when hosted outside Codlyra. Connect production APIs, payment providers, or backends separately.

Credits and spending limits

Managed runs use credits based on the chosen model’s input and output tokens. All rates are listed on the Pricing page. One US dollar buys 100 top-up credits.

Choose a limit of 25–1,000 credits before a managed run. That amount is reserved from your balance. Usage is charged as the model works, and the unused portion is returned when the run ends. You will not be charged more than the selected run budget.

Input tokens include instructions, recent messages, and files the agent reads. Output tokens include generated code and text. A stopped or failed run may have already consumed tokens. Open Usage to see recorded token counts and costs.

Subscriptions renew monthly, and custom top-ups are separate one-time purchases. Neither is available before billing onboarding is complete. Confirmed payments, rather than the browser success screen, update your balance.

Your account, your choices

You can update your name, change your password, remove provider keys, export account data, and delete your account in Settings. Changing your password signs out other sessions.

Email verification is optional for ordinary workspace access. Recovery and verification emails become available once email delivery is connected. Keep your password safe. An unverified email address is not treated as proof of identity.

If you have an active subscription, cancel it through Billing before deleting your account. For immediate deletion or other privacy requests, use Contact or Help in your workspace.

What this version can do

Codlyra is a frontend development workspace. It supports websites, portfolios, landing pages, and interactive frontend apps with local code. Each project supports up to 100 UTF-8 text files and 1 MB of source code.

The agent does not execute shell commands, install arbitrary packages, provision databases, deploy backends, or verify code in a real browser. The preview compiles and displays supported frontend files; it is not a production hosting environment. No external APIs can be called from the preview.

AI-generated code needs human review and testing. Provider outages, model permissions, or insufficient provider balance can prevent a run. Your files remain available if an AI provider is unavailable.
